Terry Griesmer is a partner at Rowlands, LeBrou & Griesmer, PLLC, where he counsels individuals, families, and businesses throughout the Capital Region in trust and estate planning, elder law, estate administration, real estate and commercial lending transactions and a variety of business law matters.

Terry has a distinctive background working with individuals and businesses in a variety of areas. He began his career with The Ayco Company, L.P., advising corporate executives and surviving family members of deceased Fortune 500 corporate employees in all aspects of estate and financial planning.  Terry continued his career with several prestigious financial institutions, where he served as the in-house planning expert for high net worth individual and business clients throughout Eastern New York (including Saratoga, Capital Region, Hudson Valley and New York City), advising in matters involving trusts and estate planning, business succession planning, life insurance strategies and other wealth management issues. Since joining Rowlands, LeBrou & Griesmer, PLLC in 2014, Terry has leveraged his unique background to provide a uniquely personalized and comprehensive approach to understanding client needs and crafting effective solutions.

Terry received his J.D., cum laude, from Albany law School, where he was elected to the honorary Justinian Society. He received his B.A. in Political Science from University of Vermont and has taught paralegal classes at Mildred Elley, as well as courses in estate planning, insurance planning, and retirement planning for aspiring Certified Financial Planning candidates.  A resident of the Capital District for over 25 years, Terry is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Trusts & Estates, Elder Law, Business Law and Real Estate sections), the Albany County Bar Association and he sits on the Board of Directors of the Visiting Nurses Association of Albany, as well as the Boards of VNA Home Health, Visiting Nurses Home Care Corp., and the VNA Foundation.  He is also a past board member of the St. Catherine’s Center for Children Foundation.
